Let's have a spring tour of our a
0:02
lotment. Welcome to Gardening with Ben.
0:04
And today we're going to give you a
0:05
little spring tour of and show you
0:07
what's growing and all the beautiful
0:09
blooms what we've got out in the plot
0:11
because I just want to share them with
0:12
you all cuz they're looking absolutely
0:14
gorgeous. So, let's have a look around
0:16
the plot. So, as you can see at the
0:19
front, we've got all the tulips coming
0:20
out looking absolutely gorgeous.
0:26
Look at them.
0:29
Absolutely gorgeous.
0:31
All the daffodils are dying off.
0:37
And then as we come on to the plot, look
0:39
at these tulips. Absolutely gorgeous. I
0:42
love all the weird and wonderful looking
0:43
tulips. Absolutely gorgeous ones.
0:46
Perfect for the bees to land on and get
0:48
the pollen and the nectar that they
0:50
need. But yeah, look at this as well for
0:56
absolutely gorgeous. First year I've
0:57
grown this. So yeah,
0:59
Happy with how that's looking.
1:01
But yeah, all the tulips are looking
1:03
absolutely gorgeous.
1:07
All the rhubarbs doing amazing. Look at
1:09
all that.
1:11
Absolutely amazing.
1:13
And we've got all the pear tree blossom
1:15
out.
1:18
So hopefully we get some good pears this
1:20
year on the tree cuz there's absolutely
1:23
loads and loads of blossom on it.
1:26
And then my fuchsia's starting to flower
1:28
as well. Look at this. Got some flowers
1:30
coming on it already.
1:32
Absolutely amazing.
1:35
I didn't prune it back. I should have
1:36
really pruned it back a bit this year,
1:39
but oh well, we'll leave it as it looks
1:42
absolutely amazing. And hopefully I get
1:44
some great flowers on it.
1:47
These tulips are starting to go. These
1:50
were the first ones to come out. But
1:52
yeah, they've been absolutely stunning
1:54
as you've probably seen in lots of my
1:55
photos. We got his gladiolas planted in
1:59
buckets
2:00
and we'll place them around the plot.
2:02
When they're starting to flower and
2:04
starting to pop up, we'll place them
2:06
around. So, we're just keeping them all
2:07
together while we keep them watered.
2:11
We've got more tulips down this side.
2:13
Look at these ones. Absolutely amazing.
2:16
Absolutely stunning. I've got so many
2:18
different varieties of tulips growing.
2:20
So many varieties. Absolutely amazing.
2:23
Then we've got some
2:25
of the monster liies, sky scraper liies
2:28
down the middle of the strawberry beds,
2:30
which I'm excited for, seeing how well
2:33
they grow. That one's starting to pop
2:35
through already, as you can see.
2:39
So, I'm growing them down the middle of
2:40
my strawberry so that I can put canes in
2:42
and support them if needs be. The plum
2:45
tree, absolutely loads of blossom on
2:47
them, on them both. So, hopefully we get
2:49
some plums on this trees this year.
2:51
These have been in probably about 3 to
2:53
four years. So, they're getting
2:55
established. But yeah, hopefully this
2:57
year we get plums on them.
3:00
Absolutely loads of tulips.
3:02
And look at this area. Absolutely
3:04
stunning.
3:07
Absolutely gorgeous. So many tulips.
3:10
We've done so well with the tulips this
3:12
year.
3:14
We've got his garlic growing. Some more
3:17
garlic there.
3:21
We've got this broad beans growing what
3:23
we started off over the winter. They're
3:25
all flowering now. So hopefully we get
3:27
some broad beans on them. We've got some
3:29
onions in there what we planted in
3:31
October. Down the sides we've got loads
3:34
of daffodils. Absolutely loads.
3:37
Absolutely stunning. These were all new
3:40
this year. All these daffodils. So the
3:42
amount of daffodils we've got this year
3:44
is outstanding. We've got his potatoes
3:46
in his potato buckets. When they start
3:49
popping through, we'll put some more
3:50
compost on top, keeping them outside
3:52
where they're getting a lot of sunlight
3:55
and keeping them well watered.
3:57
And these are the onions that I planted
3:59
in March. We started those off in
4:02
containers first. They look better than
4:03
the winter ones, but we started them off
4:05
in containers first. All growing really
4:07
well. We need to water all them to be
4:10
honest. And then in this top area, we've
4:13
just planted 300 summer flowering bulbs.
4:17
I've covered them with netting to stop
4:18
the squirrel from pinching them cuz I
4:19
had tulips in these and the squirrel
4:21
pinched them all. So yeah, we're keeping
4:24
them covered until they start growing.
4:26
And then look at this little woodland
4:28
area. Excuse the skull. It's not real.
4:31
And we've got some blue bells. We got
4:34
this little bench what we sit on full of
4:35
bird poo. I need to wash that off. But
4:38
even the nettles make it more woodland
4:39
looking. Looks absolutely gorgeous. So
4:43
hopefully we can get some more flowers
4:44
in there over the summer period. and see
4:46
you about growing stuff in there. But
4:49
yeah, it's all coming on well. All the
4:51
beds will start to fill up in May time
4:54
when we plant stuff out. But obviously
4:57
for the time being, while there's
4:58
chances of frost around, it's still
5:00
getting cold at night. We don't plan
5:02
anything out as yet.
5:05
So, make sure you drop us a follow to
5:06
stay up to date with all our videos and
5:08
how well we get on this year down at the
5:10
plot. Until next time everyone, remember
5:12
keep smiling, keep shining and keep
5:14
gardening with bed everyone.
