Hey everyone and welcome back to Gardening with Ben
0:04
Today we have had a massive parcel delivered, really heavy parcel. I was so excited to open it
0:11
It's not my birthday until the 23rd of October, but it feels like my birthday already because the things that we have got delivered are absolutely amazing
0:20
These are from simply seed, but yeah, let me show you what we've got
0:25
So this is a massive box of goodies that we received absolutely head
0:29
but yeah let's delve in and see what they've sentes so first off we have got a pack of 41 bulb lasagna now I've never done a lasagna planter before so this is something new to me so I'm looking forward to trying this out so what you do for a bulb lasagna is that you plant them all at different heights depending on when they'll be ready to grow and they should flower all
0:59
the springtime so i'm looking forward to trying that out next up we've got some autumn champion onions
1:10
so yeah we're going to get those planted because now is the time to be planting your autumn onions
1:15
you can either plant them in seed trays or you can either plant them in straight into the ground
1:21
if you growing them in seed trays start them off get them shoot get the shoots on them and then plant them out when they are ready We got some red onions as well red winter onions
1:32
So again, we'll be planting those now, so we'll be getting those in the ground
1:37
We've got some shallots! Shillot Yellow Moon! I've never actually tried growing shallots before, I've only grown onions, so this will be a good little experiment to try
1:50
So yeah, I'm looking forward to trying to grow some shallots and see how well they grow
1:56
We've got some elephant garlic as well. So yeah, hopefully we'll get some massive garlics growing from these
2:04
And then we have got a Maddock white. So yeah, a nice massive bulb that is
2:13
So we'll be splitting those down into the cloves, getting implanted in the ground and seeing if we can grow some massive
2:20
garlics these are massive these ones i've got two of these so lots of cloves in there to try out so yeah
2:27
we'll be getting those in the ground as well because it's now time to get those in we've got some
2:31
fertilizer so we'll be sprinkling that all over where we plant our onions and our garlic
2:40
to help feed them and hopefully get nice big crops we got some compost so that be And then we got a big packet of seeds So it absolutely a load of stuff that comes from simply seed
2:59
So the seeds we've got, we've got some pea shoots. These can be planted all year out
3:05
Absolutely loads in that packet. We've got some sweet peas. I start my sweet peas off now so that they're stronger and ready for planting out next year
3:15
We've got some sweet peas. We've got some pea juice province. You sell them in November, February to April
3:24
So we'll be planting them next month. We've got some radish. We'll plant these in January to October
3:33
So we might plant these now and hopefully get some nice radish growing
3:40
We've got some Mizunya. We sew these June to September. So we won't be planted these until next year
3:50
We've got some more sweet peas. So again, we might sew these now and get them ready for next year, growing well
4:00
We've got broad beans. Now, these can be planted now. And the best thing about sewing broad beans now and harvesting them early
4:10
is that the black fly won't be around when they're ready. If you plant them next year and grow them them through the summer loads of blackfly around which isn very nice on them So yeah if you saw them now they be ready before the black flies appear to clear
4:28
We've got some salad onions. We sew these May to August, so we'll be sewing them next year
4:36
We have got some salad leaves. You can sew these all year round, so we can sew these now
4:42
and we've got some cress seeds playing so we've got loads of cress as well so yeah that is all the things
4:50
what are being sent from simply seed so i'm looking forward to getting started on this i don't usually
4:56
plant anything during the winter i usually use it as a time for doing all my maintenance any work
5:03
that needs doing down on the allotment but i'm going to have a go at growing some stuff through
5:08
the winter period this year and seeing how we get on so this is a lot of
5:12
all quite new to make because i don't pretend to grow stuff through the winter but this is going to be
5:16
exciting a nice little challenge i'll be sharing with you little videos of miss sewing each one
5:23
and we'll keep you up to date on how well they're growing as well and the harvests from them all as well
5:30
so if you enjoy this video do give us a like and a follow and leave a comment as well and then
5:35
you'll be able to come back hopefully later and see how well they're getting on so until next time
5:41
remember everyone keep smiling keep shining and keep gardening with bed everyone
