Let's extend our irrigation kit down
0:03
here at the a lotment. Welcome to
0:05
Gardening with Ben. We have got an
0:07
irrigation kit set up to our tomatoes,
0:11
our peppers, our melon plants, so that
0:14
when we're not at the a lotment, it will
0:17
keep them wet every 12 hours. Now, you
0:20
can change the settings on it to how
0:22
often you want it to water. But yeah,
0:25
this has been an absolute godsend to me
0:28
this summer, especially in the hot
0:30
weather that we have had. So, we're
0:32
going to extend it to add them into our
0:36
Christmas potatoes as we've got our
0:38
Christmas potatoes in the poly tunnel
0:40
and they're drying out. So, we need to
0:41
keep them wet regular so that they get
0:44
growing and hopefully get some decent
0:46
Christmas potatoes in them. So, let's
0:48
have a look at our kit what it looks
0:50
like so far. So, this is our kit. We've
0:53
got it linked up to all our tomatoes and
0:56
our peppers. And as you can see, the
0:58
tomatoes are doing absolutely fantastic.
1:02
It's connected to this timer, which you
1:05
can set at every so often. We've got it
1:09
to water for 15 minutes every 12 hours.
1:13
So, that should keep them nice and wet.
1:15
And then it's connected to a solar panel
1:18
which obviously powers it as well and
1:20
keeps it working. And this is into our
1:24
big water but here as you can see that's
1:28
the filter onto the water pot. And then
1:30
there's a wire as well which lets you
1:32
know if it's running low on water. So we
1:35
just keep this filled up with lots of
1:39
So these are our Christmas potatoes
1:41
we've got in. Like I said it is getting
1:45
So, we've got the lead what goes onto
1:47
our melon plants over here. So, we're
1:50
going to connect it up and water these
1:53
ones as well to keep them nice and
1:58
So, it comes with 10 drippers, a big
2:01
piece of piping. So, we're going to
2:03
probably put three drippers in each box
2:08
so that it does keep it nice and damp
2:10
for us. So, yeah, it should be pretty
2:11
easy to connect up. And then we've got
2:13
some little T junctions as well so that
2:16
we can split it off and get the water
2:19
going. So, let's get it chopped up and
2:21
all connected up. So, I've got the
2:24
drippers all set up. So, I just need to
2:28
connect it onto the main P so that it
2:32
all feeds into the water. So, I've
2:35
turned the dripper on and to make sure
2:37
that it's all working and it's all
2:42
pretty good. So, yeah, hopefully it all
2:47
comes on pretty good down here. Just
2:49
push them in a bit further.
2:53
So, hopefully it'll keep them all nicely
2:56
watered and that will water them for 15
3:00
minutes and then it will end.
3:05
So, I hope you've enjoyed that little
3:06
video. Make sure you drop us a follow to
3:08
stay up to date with all our antics down
3:10
at the aotment. Until next time
3:12
everyone, remember keep smiling, keep
3:14
shining and keep gardening with Ben
