How are our July seeds getting on? That is the question that everybody's been asking
0:06
As you know, at the beginning of the month, we shared a video of all the seeds that you can plant in July
0:12
Let's have a look and see how well they're all growing. At the beginning of July, we planted loads of seeds for the allotment
0:21
as there's still plenty of time to grow certain things down here at the plot ready for this year and for next year
0:27
So we've started loads off and obviously now we're at the end of July
0:32
So we're going to share with you how well everything is growing down here and not growing because we are very open and honest
0:40
So let's have a look and see what's happening. So we have just watered all these, hence why a lot of them are laying down
0:48
But they'll thump up once the day grows on. So a spring onion is doing really well
0:54
We planted these in pots because we're going to plant them in. bunches because they grow tons better in bunches rather than planting them in rows and yeah
1:03
they'll be ready to go out in the ground now they're about ready beat root absolutely loads of beetroot
1:11
as you can see it's all flattened but that's just from giving it a good water but yeah a lot of that
1:17
will be ready to go out soon so we need to prepare an area and get all that planted but obviously
1:22
it keeping it watered in these hot days at the moment Now of a slight issue I used a pen what rubbed out on my plastic when I should have used
1:35
the Sharpie, so I have no idea what certain things are. But I know that I've planted some cauliflower, some turnips, some swede, and yeah, so we've got
1:52
these ones. I'm guessing they look like cauliflower, to be honest, and they look like cauliflower
1:58
So I'm guessing them two are cauliflower from the looks of it
2:03
Let me know in the comments what you think, if you think they're cauliflowers. And I'm thinking these are turnip and swede as they're
2:13
I'm sure that's what the leaves look like on them. So yeah, that is what I'm guessing at
2:19
So let me know in the comments. Help me out. But either way, we'll plant them and we'll see how well they grow
2:29
And again, I've got another one here. Similar leaf, that's the thing with brassicas
2:34
They've all got similar leaves. So it's hard to differentiate between them all and know which ones are which
2:42
Same goes for these. But I think these are radish by the looks of it
2:47
They do look like radishes. So we need to get them out in the ground
2:52
because they ready But yeah we got a lot of potting up to do of all these cauliflower and cabbages And we also got some lettuce growing
3:02
The lettuce is a bit slower. I thought the lettuce would be pretty fast to be honest
3:07
They're the iceberg ones. Also some wheat growing in there as well
3:12
Which isn't very good but we can tell which ones are lettuce. So hopefully we get some
3:16
more iceberg lettuces growing because they did absolutely fantastic this year. I had a fantastic
3:21
crop. My peas, they will be ready to plant out soon. We'll give them probably about another week
3:28
to get a bit bigger and then we'll be planting them out in the ground. These are the late crop peas
3:34
Kelden Munda. These a variety are. I grew early onwards at the beginning of the year and these
3:41
are lake crop ones. Runner beans. I planted a late crop of runner beans. Now I always start
3:51
them off in trays because they do better in trays and then I plant them out so then they're stronger
3:56
and protected from the pigeons and the slugs and everything like that and as you can see these are
4:01
definitely ready for planting out so these are going to go out in the ground hopefully today that's one job
4:08
we've also got some flowers growing now again I've had to guess what some of these are because
4:14
the label rubbed off but I believe we got some poppies growing some pans is so these will be ready for winter these will look nice in winter time We got some I can say the word agasushi
4:33
I'm no good at saying these gardening words, definitely not. And then we've either got some holiocks and some, not holiocks
4:46
I can't remember now. fox gloves and also some honesty so either one of them is them ones so we're going to have to stay tuned for them ones
4:58
we're going to have to take pictures of the leaves and hopefully get an idea from apps so don't do as I do
5:05
don't use pens that wash off the labels use a sharpie pen and then you won't have this trouble
5:13
like I always do. I always do this every single year. I always mess up with my labels
5:19
But yeah, as you can see, all the July seeds are growing and ready to grow out some of these
5:26
So hopefully we're going to be starting off the August seeds pretty soon and get them started
5:34
So as I said, I'm going to be starting off my august seeds. So make sure you stay tuned for that video coming up. Give this a like and a subscribe and then you'll get
5:43
to see all my seeds what I'm planting it in August and hopefully grow along with May
5:48
So until the next episode, remember, keep smiling, keep shining and keep gardening with Ben everyone
