Let's plant our deep purple hydranger.
0:03
Welcome to Gardening with Ben. And today
0:04
we're going to be planting our deep
0:06
purple hydranger that we got. And
0:08
hopefully, fingers crossed, we're going
0:10
to get some great, glorious purple
0:13
flowers on them. And it depends on the
0:15
soil level, how deep a purple it is, and
0:18
whether it's acid or alkali soil. So,
0:21
we'll see how deep it actually gets. But
0:24
yeah, we're going to plant this up in my
0:25
new area of my plot where it's rockery
0:28
and it's a bit of a area to sit and
0:30
enjoy and hopefully get it more like a
0:33
cottage garden type area. So the more
0:36
perennial flowers the better up here to
0:38
save having to keep growing stuff. So
0:40
we've got a bed ready for this and yeah,
0:42
I looking for a centerpiece and this is
0:44
going to look absolutely perfect.
0:46
Obviously, it won't grow many flowers on
0:47
it this year, the first year. But as it
0:49
takes part over the next few years,
0:51
it'll get bigger and more flowers on it.
0:54
So, we need to get this planted and give
0:56
it a good watering and keep it watered
0:58
over the next few months while it
1:00
settles in and gets root and get it
1:02
growing down here. It's looking in
1:04
absolutely fantastic condition. Look at
1:06
all these leaves growing on it. So,
1:08
yeah, let's get it planted. The soil
1:10
that I'm planting it in is absolutely
1:12
fantastic up here. as this is where I've
1:15
chucked all my compost in the past and
1:18
it's all broken down and it's pretty
1:19
good. And as you can see, the worms are
1:21
enjoying it. So, it must be good soil
1:23
down here. There's loads of worms in it,
1:25
to be honest. But yeah, we need a nice
1:26
deep hole to get it planted so that it's
1:29
nicely deep and takes root. So, as you
1:33
can see, it's deeper than the actual
1:34
plant pot. So, it's nice and deep. So,
1:36
we're going to cover it over, give it a
1:38
good water, and hopefully get it growing
1:41
in this bed. what I've got. Let's show
1:42
you the bed. It's a nice square one.
1:45
Look at that. So, we're going to grow
1:46
flowers all around the edge. We've got
1:48
some fox gloves in and we've got some
1:50
tulips in what the squirrel didn't get.
1:52
But yeah, we're going to plant more
1:53
flowers in here come around summertime.
1:57
So, we've given it a good watering in
1:58
and we've covered it over with soil so
2:00
that none of the roots are showing and
2:02
hopefully it can get growing pretty
2:04
well. So, like I said, we're going to
2:05
keep it well watered over the next few
2:07
months so that it takes root and
2:09
hopefully it gets growing into a bigger
2:11
bush down here as it will look
2:13
absolutely amazing come summertime when
2:16
it's bigger and better and more flowers
2:19
on it. But hopefully this year it takes
2:21
root and it gets growing down here at
2:23
the plot. So, make sure you drop us a
2:25
follow to stay up to date and see how
2:27
well it grows down here and all my other
2:29
videos what we post on here as well.
2:31
Until next time everyone, remember keep
2:33
smiling, keep shining and keep gardening
