• I have used swoes for over 35 years, this is the best of the current crop. Looks like it was made in the old eastern bloc, and all the better for it. Solid, properly welded, correct angle head, comes sharpened unlike new Wilkinson and similar products, so good for a lot of work. On the longer handle it is well balanced and works like one would hope. Much much better than Wilkinson Sword’s pathetic current efforts, and those swoes on wooden handles which look ‘heritage’ but are heavy, badly angled, and just fall to bits. Recommended.
• Use this hoe to the exclusion of all others. Once you get the hang of it, it’s probably the most versatile hoe I’ve ever owned. Made by Wolf Garten is a plus. I only use their tools now. So much more simple to carry and store. I did have to replace a handle that broke. I had no receipt but they didn’t quibble and sent a replacement by return. That, in itself, makes it worth paying a little more for their tools.
