April is a great time to start sowing all your flower seeds as the temperature is warming up so these will germinate a lot better now and you will get some great results. Below we have listed all the flowers to plant in April

Flowers to plant outdoors in April

  • Plant Lilly bulbs in pots. Once these have flowered you can store away and fetch out next year.
  • If you have grown hyacinths or daffodils in pots these can be moved into the ground for next year.

Flowers to plant in the greenhouse in April

  • This month you need to finish planting summer bedding plants this includes Zinnia and salvia
  • Sow marigolds
  • Sow petunia seeds
  • Sow sunflowers – this is great for the children to get involved.
  • You can now fill hanging baskets with plug plants – these need to be kept in the greenhouse until the morning frosts have passed.
