In today's episode, we're going to share with you all the things that you can plant in the garden

in the flower garden, in the fruit garden, down at the allotment and in the garden

So sit back, relax and enjoy today's episode. So there's still quite a few things that you can plant in the garden over the winter period

I don't grow a lot of things myself as I use at a time for preparation, tidying up, doing any repairs

doing any improvements down at the allotment site but I have a few things growing so what things

can we plant in November the first thing we can plant is onions now these have got to be an autumn

variety of onions you can usually get them from the garden centres at this time of year in a little bag

they're usually little sets where you can just plan either yellow ones or red ones and yet you'll be

harvesting them around June-July time so why not use one of your beds fill it up

and stick some in because when you're harvesting them, there'll be still plenty of time to grow stuff in that bed

after they've finished growing. So give it a try and see how well you grow your onions

Next up is garlic. Now this is one of the main things that you grow during the winter period

as it needs a cold to break down the clove to form the garlic bulb itself

So you can either get them from like garden centres or you can get them off Amazon

or you can use the garlic in the supermarket. However, if you're using the ones in the supermarket

make sure they're from the UK or from a European country. Don't get the ones that are from like China or Russia

because it'll be used to their climates rather than the European climates

So make sure you look at the garlic that you're getting. Now you can obviously get the elephant garlic

which is the massive ones, or you can get normal-sized garlic. I've got quite a few different varieties planted on my allotment

So I'm looking forward to them growing. They always do well in my allotment of garlic

But like I say, it needs the cold weather for it to form the garlic bulb

So you need to get those in pretty urgently. So you need to get these planted before the bad weather does set in

Next up is broad beans. Now, the reason why you can grow broad beans

now they need to be a winter variety if you're choosing them. So make sure you check the right varieties when you ordering your broad beans But you can grow some now and the benefit of growing broad beans now is that when you harvesting them it before the black fly come out and if you saw them in March and when you harvesting them in June July time

that is when all the black flies around and are usually covered in them. It doesn't usually harm the broad beans itself, but it's absolutely horrible seeing them all covered in blackfly

But if you grow them now, they'll be ready to harvest before the blackfly appear

So if you want in some early broad beans, now is the time to sew them

You can either sew them in the ground or sew them in pots and then plant them out

As obviously sawing them in the ground, the rats and the squirrels and the mice will be around

and that will be food for them. There's not much food for them around at the moment. So just make sure you protect them when you do plant them

The same goes for peas. You can grow a variety now, ready for harvesting early springtime

Now that's a meteor variety of peas that you can grow. again watch out for the rats and the mice because they will like to eat them next up is asparagus

if you want to grow some asparagus again that's expensive to buy in the supermarket so you can buy

crowns now and you can plant them in the ground get them mulched get them planted and then you'll be

harvesting them in a few years time they usually take a while to get going but once they get going

then you'll be uninundated with lots of asparagus next up is spring onion hence

where it gets its name from. If you sow some now, you'll be harvesting it early springtime

ready for them salads. So if you want to fill a space in, plants some spring onion and get it growing

Now I usually grow these in clumps. I don't grow them in rows. They grow better in a clump

then you can just harvest them in the clump, a bit like what you see in a supermarket when you see

them in the clumps together. So yeah, grow them in a little clump and see how well you get on

So what can we grow in the fruit garden at this time of year? Now is the perfect time to be

planting fruit. You don't plant fruit in the summer. You plant it in the wintertime as it is

dormant. It concentrates on growing its roots rather than it growing the fruit. So now it's the perfect

time to be planting them fruit items that you want to grow in your garden. So we can be planting

blackberries. As you know, I've got faunless black break game changer. Absolutely game changer

The whips on them have grown massive They faunless They don hurt you when you pulling off all the blackberries and the blackberries are massive on them They taste absolutely delicious So if you want to grow blackberries I recommend growing funless blackberries

Next up is raspberries. Obviously you can grow autumn varieties. You can grow summer varieties

So why not bulk up, get both of them and get them both growing

But obviously grow them in separate places so you know which variety they are because each one requires different pruning

So you don't want to get a muddled up. So why not try extending your season, getting some

harvesting in summer and then some harvesting in autumn as well. Next up is strawberries. I've talked about my strawberries

I planted 200 plants the other month. So fingers crossed, I get absolutely loads of strawberries

Strawberry plants will be sending out all the baby runners. So if they've got babies on them

pot them up and get them growing and then plant them out. Or you can just stick them in some soil connected to the runner

Once you've taken roots, snip them off. Snip like that umbilical cord light with you would for a baby

snip it off and it will get rooted and get growing. So yeah, now is the perfect time to be growing those strawberries

and you can never have enough strawberries. Trust me, however many plants I've got, I will still eat them all

Next up is rhubarb. Now is the time to be planting your rhubarb crowns

a bit like an asparagus ground, it's a rhubarb crown. If you're planting rhubarb, don't pick it for the first year though

However tempting it will be with rhubarb growing on it, don't pick it, harvest it, the year

year after because it needs to get roots it needs to get settled and it needs to get growing

and put all its energy into growing the crown so don't have it stick the first year plant it and get

it planted i've got 16 crowns in my allotment absolutely loads of rubal i have tons and tons of

rubal crumble all through summer absolutely gorgeous next up is blueberries so blueberries require

efficacious compost to be grown in so if you're growing blueberries grow them in pots you can even

dig them into the soil, it's up to you, or you can just place them around your garden or your

allotment, but they need avocaceous soil to grow. So if they're growing in pots, you can give them

everycation's feed to keep them fed throughout the summertime, but blueberry is now the time to plant

them. Same goes for currants. Currants can be planted straight into the ground, but remember

they will grow massive, the bushes, so leave plenty of room around them to grow, and you will

get absolutely loads of currants on them but they are paying to pull out all the little ends on them once you harvested them So the choice is yours If you want to try and grow some fancy pulling all the little ends out the stalks out

give them a try and see what you can grow. Obviously you can grow white ones, red ones and black ones

There's plenty of varieties of currents to grow. So flowers, what flowers can we grow in November

Well, now is the time to be planting all your spring bulbs. It's the perfect time, the perfect weather

and you can plant your tulips. You can plant dúels, you can plant your bluebells, your alliums, your snowdrops, your crocuses, absolutely loads of flower bulbs to plant

But remember, the squirrels will pull them up. So make sure you keep them protected

Asmantas, put netted over the top until they start growing. Take the netted off and then they should be fine

But yeah, plant all your spring bulbs. I encourage everyone that's got an allotment to grow spring bulbs because when the bees wake up from hibernation, it's the first thing around

that they can get their energy in their nectar from. And obviously, encouraging the bees to your allotment

will help with pollination. And around that same time, all your fruit trees will be blossoming

So getting the more bees to the allotment, the more fruit you will get

so it works in your favour. So I encourage everyone to grow spring bulbs on their allotment

Next up is roses. If you wanted to grow some roses, again, now it's the perfect time to be growing them

They're dormant, so they're concentrating on growing the roots. and getting planted and getting growing and hopefully next year or the year after you will get some

beautiful roses growing on i might plant some more roses this year who knows i'll have to have a look

and see what's around and finally is pansies now i grew a load of pansies from seed which you'll

have seen in my weekly tour video now obviously it's too late to grow them from seed but you can get them

from garden centres the plants and you can plant loads of pansies around and they will give you colour all the way

through winter into springtime and keep your garden looking absolutely gorgeous. So that is everything that you can grow in your allotment in November or in the garden
