Customer Reviews

With over 100 reviews of the product it has a 68% five star rating. Everyone is loving this solar powered fountain in their garden. You can check out the review of one of the customers below:-

  • I found this garden water fountain to be excellent, this works great, however, you need to understand that to get the maximum effect it should be in full sun. If you can put it where you get full sun this fountain will work brilliantly. The solar panel is very good and the fountain pattern is very good. For this fountain you don’t need a lot of water for it to work maybe just a couple of inches, therefore you can move it around in the garden where you get the best result. The price of the fountain is quite right for the quality of the item. I definitely recommend this fountain.

Customer Reviews

Here you can see what the customers think of the product:-

  • To replace an old Black and Decker garden vac and blower that lasted over 20 years, I bought this from Amazon for £89 a few days ago. It arrived by Prime the next day in good order. It was easy to assemble from the visual instructions. The tool is well thought out and generally of stout construction. The vacuum bag is sturdy and attaches simply and well. The impeller is a sturdy alloy. The tubes are robust. To change the tool to a blower you need to detach the bag and its housing which docks with the body of the tool, over the impeller. You then replace the housing with another, but sealed one, and attach the blower tube. I did not mind a vac/blower where you have to change the tube manually, as I was used to doing that anyway. The operation takes a bit longer, but less than a minute and you have to store the blower tube and housing separately while the tool is rigged as a vacuum, and vice-versa.
  • I prefer not to have wheels on the vac nozzle (this machine does not have wheels) as I hover over flower beds to remove leaves or cut grass lawn edgings. In use, the blower is effective and manageable. As a vacuum, suction is good, the tube length is right for a person of average height, and the weight is easily manageable especially with the substantial padded shoulder strap and adjustable front handle. It is a bit quieter than my old B&D, but still fairly noisy – the manual gives its sound pressure and volume as 82 to 89 decibels. I doubt if you could find a quieter one, though. It shreds leaves very well indeed. You need to take off the housing and clean the impeller afterward if there is any moisture in the leaves you’re sucking up, as the interior around the impeller gets heavily caked with the broken leaf mass.
  • Four stars rather than five because first, the integrated power cable is the stiff plastic-coated kind that does not coil or uncoil well (as opposed to the lovely flexible rubberized cable I had with my old garden vac) and is none too long: I should prefer a stub connector on the machine and a separate flexible cable. Second, the one part that does not look as stout as the rest is the rectangular plastic locating lug on the vac and blower tube where the tube is inserted on to the blower/vacuum outlet. It’s not flimsy, but I can see myself having to take particular care not to break that off when attaching/detaching the tubes.

The rollers are loose without springs, making it easy to put brooms or mops in using a forward or upward motion and then pull down to tighten the hold. Customer Reviews

Here you can see the reviews left by the customers which have purchased the item:-

We’ve got a couple of bushes in our garden that we have to frequently clip into shape. For years we’ve used hedging shears and hacked away at them, feeling that an electric hedge trimmer was a bit unnecessary for two bushes. My parents bought themselves one of these and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for us.

When the parcel arrives you remove a cardboard sleeve and find a nice zipped box inside, containing the shears, their charger, and instructions. The initial charge is fast – just plug the charger into the handle, switch it on at the mains, and a green light flashes on the handle. When it stops flashing, it is fully charged. The kit comes with two heads, one of which is like a traditional hedge trimmer, and the other looks like two hands and is used for edging. Simply clip the one you want to use onto the bottom of the handset and you’re ready to go.

It’s easy to use. For safety, there is a red slider near the power trigger, and you push this to one side in order to make the trigger work. It is light and easy to use, and made trimming the bushes in my garden a quick and simple task. Sure, if you’re wanting to trim a long hedge you’d go for a bigger hedge trimmer than this, but for small jobs this is ideal.

When to plant raspberries UK

Home/2020 (Page 15)

When to plant raspberries uk

Raspberries are fantastic to grow on the allotment and in the garden. The only thing with growing them is that they can get out of control if they are not looked after. They send roots out which will start new shoots growing. You can dig these up and put them where you want them to grow. Here we will be explaining when to plant raspberries UK.

Tips for planting raspberries

  • Plant your raspberries canes in late autumn through to early spring when the soil is most moist. This is so the raspberry canes can take.
  • Plant your raspberry canes around 60cm apart. Leaving enough room to weed in-between.
  • Make sure that the area you are planting the raspberries in does not hold onto the water. Raspberries do not like waterlogged soil.
  • Raspberries do not like to be in direct sunlight, they like to be planted in partial shade.
  • Make sure if you are planting Autumn and Summer Raspberries that they are planted in different areas so you do not get confused when pruning them. Autumn can be pruned to the ground each year and summer raspberries grow on the canes which have grown the previous year.

Where to plant Raspberries

The Uk is an ideal place to grow raspberries as the weather and climate are perfect. If you are growing them in hot climates plant your raspberries in partial shade so that the sun is not beating down on them all the time. If you are in the UK though you can plant them in the sun as there is not much sun in the UK. A lot of the UK’s raspberries are actually grown in Scotland.

There are two types of raspberry you can grow. These are summer fruiting and autumn fruit raspberries. Then there are different varieties for each type. Raspberries do not just come in the red colour but orange and black. Raspberries do not require much looking after apart from tying them up and harvesting them.

When growing raspberries they need to be grown in good soil. They prefer to be grown in soil that is well draining. This will help produce great raspberries that will be really productive. When you are preparing the bed to plant your raspberries dig in lots of well rotted organic matter. You can add mulch round the plants each year to help took after your raspberry plants.

Which Raspberry Canes To Purchase

When purchasing Raspberries you need to think of what type would you like to buy either Summer or Autumn Raspberries. Then you need to think about what colour you would like to purchase. Yes raspberries are not just red, they are also orange and black.

Below you can see the different ones available to purchase. You can click the link and it will take you through to Amazon to purchase these.

When should you plant raspberries

The best ideal time to plant raspberry canes is from Autumn through to the beginning of Spring. This will give the canes time to settle and take root worth it not being too hot. If the ground is unworkable store the canes until it is time and the soil is in a better condition to plant them.

How to plant raspberry canes

When you are deciding to plant your autumn or summer raspberries make sure that you have dug in plenty of organic matter this will help the water drain away and not let the raspberry canes get too waterlogged.

When you are planting you summer and autumn raspberries you need to think about supporting them as they are growing. Autumn Raspberries however do not need supporting as they grow. They are a lot stronger than summer raspberries and will not fall over.

When you are thinking about support it is easy to construct something for them to fasten too, chicken wire is perfect for this or you could put some posts in and fasten fruit wires to it which you can then fasten the raspberries too.

Once you have sorterd your fram out you you can now dig a trench for your raspberries. The trench needs to be ideally 30cm deep and and 30cm wide. You need to make sure that the roots of the raspberry plants are spread out in the trench and not pushed down. You can now place your canes in the trench ready for growing. If you are planting individual canes they need to be spaced out around 60cm apart. Cover the roots will soil and firm it down. You will see the mark on the canes where the soil originally was make sure it goes back up to this.

Once you have planted all your canes you need to chop these down to around 20cm in height this is so that the canes themselves don’t carry on growing and it forces the roots to take hold in the soil creating better plants next year.

To keep your raspberries plants moist you can put a layer of mulch round the plants but do not let it touch the plants as this could cause rotting on them and runing your hard work.

Can you plant raspberry bushes in containers

Raspberries are great to grow in pots. If you don’t look after raspberries in the ground they can be worse than weeds and start popping up everywhere so a lot of people do actually grow them in pots so that they don’t spread and take over there gardens.

To grow raspberries in containers you need a container that is big. Look for a container that is around 50cm in depth and diameter. This is so that the roots can go deep and and the plants can spread out quite a bit. You don’t want to select a variety of raspberries that grow tall, just a small plant variety.

We hope you have found these tips on when to plant raspberries useful. You can find more tips and advice here

Reviews from the customers

Check out one of the reviews on this product from the customers:-

  • This is undoubtedly a robust edging knife, having always relied on edging using strimmers this is a breeze to use. In comparison to edging using a strimmer, this manual tool certainly minimizes the risk of damaging turf edges. It is more expensive than similar tools, but what you get with this tool is an excellent heavy-duty edging knife, that will surpass other edgers where the joint between the handle and blade bends and ultimately snaps.
  • Having used this tool frequently, on a weekly basis for a considerable amount of time, I have had no issues with exacting ground that consists of thick roots and stones, the tool is quite simply perfect in all aspects. Make no mistake this product has been engineered with quality and toughness in mind. With a thick blade of around 5mm and metal that continues up almost half-way up the handle. At the narrowest point, it is still around an inch thick.
  • Despite the more expensive cost of this tool, I have no hesitation in recommending this tool as an addition to a garden tool, which will undoubtedly stand the test of time.

It stayed in one piece however and did it’s job. Good, but probably not for anything too heavy duty.

  • Have tried various edging tools and streamers but this is the best. I am a Wolf Garten fan to be fair but this is good. It does require a bit of grunt to push and I highly recommend you purchase the small handle as the usual long handles are more difficult to use. I also recommend using when there’s been a bit of rain, not when too wet but not when bone dry either

Lawn Edging Tool Buying Guide

  • Tomatoes – Feed your plants once a week with tomato feed. Take off the side shoots on the plant once a week. This will stop the plant from bushing out.
  • Fasten your cucumber trailers to netting or canes so that they are growing vertically rather than on the floor where they can get attacked by slugs.

  • Garlic will be ready to harvest when the tops bend over and turn yellow. Let them dry in a shed.
  • Stop picking Rhubarb at the end of July. This will encourage the plant to die back naturally and the nutrients to go back into the crown.
  • As you harvest beetroot, lettuce and carrots plant some more seeds. You still have plenty more time to get another crop in.
  • Keep checking Cabbages and other brassicas for butterfly eggs. Even better cover them with a fine net curtain
  • Keep picking, drying, and freezing herbs. The more you pick them the more they will grow. Create supplies for the winter.
  • Keep areas weeded well around your vegetables. Weeds will take vital nutrients away from the plants that are needed to help them grow.

Reviews of the Wolf Garten Secateurs

This item has sold over 58 online. It has an average rating online of 4.1 out of 5. Customers have stated they need to tighten up the blades as tight as possible before they start using the. But apart from that no other major issues. Check out one of the customer’s reviews below:-

  • Good secateurs. They are much better than the Wolf Garten general-purpose anvil secateurs (which had been my secateurs of choice for many years) and well worth the extra money. They give a good clean cut and are comfortable to use if you are going to spend all day pruning. They can cope with thicker stems than the ordinary pair.
  • The only fault so far is that the blade screws came loose – a common problem with anvil secateurs. Fortunately, I noticed and found them. They were screwed back in (needs an Allen key) and tightened as much as possible and haven’t fallen out since despite many hours of use. I’m guessing they were never properly tightened by the factory – so it is worth checking a new pair. But don’t let this put you off buying them as they are easy to tighten.

  • These cutters are truly bad-to-the-bone and have saved me hours of sawing, cutting, and chopping when getting rid of a LOT of hefty tree branches in my garden. I can chop up a hefty 10 metre branch and all of its branches in record time, with ease.
  • You will need strong arms though, these cutters are heavy, but you see why when you start using them, and the extending arms on these make ANY other cutters are a total waste of money!
  • The handles on these are mega strong too, I’m talking lean on them with all your might to chop a hefty branch kind of strong!
