gardening jobs you can do in 10 minutes.

Welcome to Gardening with Ben and today
0:04
we're going to talk about the gardening
0:05
jobs that you can do in 10 minutes and
0:08
hopefully get as much done as possible.
0:10
Keeping on top of these jobs saves you
0:12
time in the long run. So, if you've only
0:14
got a quick 10 minutes before you start
0:16
work in the morning or when you get
0:18
home, these are the ideal jobs for you.
0:22
Quick weeding. Now, I had somebody on
0:25
our a lotment site when we first
0:26
started, and his plot was absolutely
0:29
pristine. Yes, he was retired, but his
0:32
little tip to me was, "How your beds
0:35
every single week, and you will keep the
0:37
weeds down." And that's all he did. He
0:39
just hoed his beds every single week and
0:41
he didn't have a single weed in his bed.
0:44
So, that is a great tip. just go around
0:46
your beds every week and ho and it'll
0:48
stop the roots from establishing and
0:50
hopefully stopping all the weeds from
0:52
growing. So that's a great little tip
0:54
what he taught me and I've always gone
0:58
with that what he's said to me and it
1:00
only takes 10 minutes just to go around
1:01
your beds and quickly ho it's a perfect
1:05
Check plants for pests or diseases. Now
1:09
obviously when you start getting to the
1:10
time when the butterflies are around and
1:12
stuff like that check under your leaves.
1:14
Check for eggs and make sure that you go
1:17
around on a slug hunt at night if it has
1:20
been raining and get all them slugs up
1:23
and discard them or put them on your
1:25
bird table for the birds to eat. And
1:27
yeah, do a little slug hunt and get your
1:29
kids involved in. Yeah, enjoy doing that
1:33
harvesting. Harvest on a regular basis
1:36
so that the crops keep producing.
1:38
Especially if you're growing like runna
1:39
beans or rhubarb, the more you harvest,
1:41
the more they'll produce. And yeah, a
1:44
great addition to every meal as well,
1:48
the more that you harvest and hopefully
1:51
get some great crops from it. Watering.
1:54
Now, I wish watering only took 10
1:56
minutes. On my part, it takes absolutely
1:57
forever, but keep on top of watering and
2:00
yeah, keep things nice and damp and
2:03
moist and hopefully get your plants keep
2:07
Dead heading. Do this on a regular
2:10
basis. If you go around your garden
2:12
every single night, just have a look at
2:13
your plants. If you see a flower that's
2:15
dying, just snip it off or pull it off.
2:18
And yeah, the more you keep deadheading,
2:23
especially like roses, they're perfect
2:25
for dead heading on a regular basis. And
2:27
they'll keep producing flowers all
2:31
Tying your plants up. Now, obviously, if
2:34
you're growing like cucumbers or runna
2:36
beans or peas, keep tying them up. If
2:39
you're if you cucumbers will grow pretty
2:42
fast and once they get growing, they get
2:45
out of control sometimes. So, keep tying
2:48
them up and keep fastening them along.
2:50
And if you keep training them, then you
2:52
can keep them under control and
2:53
hopefully get some great harvests from
2:55
them. So, those are all the jobs that
2:57
you can do in 10 minutes or maybe a bit
3:00
longer if it's watering. But yeah, I
3:02
hope you found them useful. Drop us a
