Let's plant our spring bulbs for
0:03
beautiful blooms in the garden in
0:06
springtime. Welcome to Gardening with
0:08
Ben. And in today's video, we're going
0:10
to be planting our spring bulbs ready
0:12
for next year to attract the bees down
0:14
to the plot so that we get some
0:16
beautiful flowers, some color because
0:19
there's not much color around in the
0:21
springtime. So, we want as much color
0:24
down here as possible to attract the
0:25
bees, to help with pollination
0:28
because that's when all the fruit trees
0:30
start blossoming. And the more bees you
0:32
get to the plot, the better the harvests
0:35
will be. So, yeah, we want to attract as
0:37
many bees as possible. And I love the
0:38
bees. They do the jobs. What we don't
0:41
want to do, pollinate all the plants.
0:43
And yeah, the more the bees help, the
0:46
better produce we get down at the pot.
0:48
So, what are we going to be planting
0:50
today down at the plot? Well, we've
0:52
created some new areas down at the plot
0:53
with some new beds. We're going to be
0:56
filling these with spring bulbs, and in
0:58
the summertime, we'll have summer
0:59
flowers in them. But come springtime, I
1:02
want them to look great and full of
1:04
flowers. So, we've got a big hole of
1:06
spring bulbs to plant today. We're not
1:08
going to be planting tulips. We're going
1:09
to plant them at the end of the month,
1:11
end of October, beginning of November
1:13
because they can get tulip fire. So, we
1:16
don't want to risk that because we want
1:17
some beautiful tulips down here as well.
1:19
So today we're going to be planting our
1:21
daffodil, crocuses, some higher sims,
1:25
and some daffodil. So yeah, we're going
1:28
to be planting some of those and
1:30
hopefully get them all in the ground
1:32
today. So these are what we're going to
1:34
be planting. We're going to be planting
1:36
some nice orange crocuses, orange mono.
1:38
They look gorgeous, them. We've got some
1:41
mix colored ones, 45 in a bag of these.
1:45
We've got some muscar, which is
1:46
absolutely gorgeous. And we've got some
1:48
small tarte daffodils because these are
1:52
the beds. So I don't want huge daffodils
1:55
engulfing them. I just want nice small
1:57
little daffodils which will look nice in
2:00
these little beds that we've got here
2:01
with all the pansies what we've got to
2:04
add some nice color at the moment. So
2:06
yeah, I need to fix that bed. That one's
2:08
falling down. But yeah, we're going to
2:10
get these in the ground. Well,
2:12
positioned first. See where we're going
2:14
to put them all and then we'll plant
2:16
them all. So yeah, let's get these
2:18
crocuses, muscar, and tatarte
2:22
lined up.
2:24
We have placed all the bulbs in these
2:27
beds. We just need to dig them all in
2:30
now. We've got higher, we've got
2:31
crocuses, we've got muscar, we got
2:34
daffodil, we got the tall daffodil in
2:37
the beds at the back because they'll be
2:40
all right in them ones. But we've got
2:42
the tatarte ones in these beds at the
2:45
front so they don't overpower
2:46
everything. But yeah, this is going to
2:49
look absolutely phenomenal in springtime
2:52
once all the colors out. Hopefully the
2:54
squirrels don't pinch all the bulbs. But
2:57
yeah, now let's get them all into the
2:58
ground.
3:01
So they're all now planted in these
3:04
beds. All the spring bulbs are covered
3:06
over and hopefully
3:10
come springtime,
3:11
this area is going to look absolutely
3:16
phenomenal with these new arches. The
3:19
bear feeders are up. We got the climbing
3:22
plants climbing up them. We got the
3:24
roses, the climbing roses. So, next year
3:27
this area is going to look so good. I'm
3:31
so pleased that I've done this area up.
3:33
got the bird bath out as well. But yeah,
3:37
it's a well worth investment to my plot.
3:41
So, make sure you come back next year to
3:43
see how well the spring bulbs are doing
3:46
down on the plot. Make sure you drop us
3:48
a follow to stay up to date with how
3:49
well everything else is doing down here.
3:51
Until next time everyone, remember keep
3:53
smiling, keep shining and keep gardening
