hey everyone it's Gardening with Ben in
0:02
today's video we're going to show you
0:04
getting our strawberry patch ready as
0:06
it's starting to get ready for a lot of
0:08
them are starting to flower they're
0:10
starting to produce the strawberries so
0:11
we need to get it all tided cleared up
0:13
so that there's no weeds around and we
0:16
can concentrate on growing those
0:18
delicious strawberries i won't be
0:19
putting the netting over until they
0:22
start getting ready for ripening because
0:25
I want the bees to get into them to
0:27
pollinate them so we're going to keep
0:29
the netting off for the time
0:30
being but we're going to be getting it
0:33
all transformed putting some feed around
0:35
them as obviously with the flowers
0:38
coming on and producing the strawberries
0:40
we're going to give them some food to
0:41
get those delicious strawberries big and
0:44
healthy and hopefully we're going to get
0:46
a lot of strawberries this year cuz I
0:48
planted 200 plants last year at the end
0:51
of the year from lots of runners a lot
0:53
of them I thought wouldn't take but they
0:55
did actually take and they're all
0:57
producing so hopefully we're going to
0:59
get a great crop of strawberries so as
1:01
you can see these are my strawberry
1:03
plants i grow them through black
1:04
membrane it keeps them nice and moist it
1:07
keeps the weeds down even though the
1:08
weeds do manage to get through the black
1:10
membrane so we need to get them all
1:11
cleared and tidied so that we can see
1:13
where the strawberry plants are and yeah
1:16
hopefully get a lot of strawberries
1:17
coming this year we've got loads coming
1:20
look at them strawberries coming
1:23
so hopefully we're going to get some
1:24
delicious ones this year down at the
1:27
plot so let's get them all weeded and
1:29
get all them weeds out without trying to
1:31
disturb the strawberry plants so we've
1:33
got the strawberries cleared the best
1:35
that we can do for what we've got but
1:38
yeah look at all the flowers absolutely
1:40
loads of them so when they start
1:42
producing the fruit that's when we'll
1:44
start netting them over because we don't
1:47
want the pesky birds eating them all cuz
1:49
we didn't get many last year so I want a
1:52
good crop this year down at the a
1:53
lotment hopefully by the looks of it
1:56
we're going to get quite a lot so we
1:58
best keep them watered while it's during
2:00
this hot period and we best give them
2:03
some food as well you can either give
2:05
them a seaweed feed or give them some
2:09
tomato food or you can give them the
2:13
bloodburn as well which will feed them
2:17
but just be careful not to get it on the
2:18
plants because it does burn certain
2:20
plants as well so be careful not to get
2:25
themselves so I hope you've enjoyed this
2:27
little tips video today and got
2:29
something from it make sure you do drop
