Hey everyone, it's gardening with Ben here and we're down here on the allotment today in the polytunnel
0:05
because today we're going to be putting together a new bird feeding station that I purchased
0:11
I'll make sure I drop the link in the comments for you to purchase
0:15
I'm excited about this because I do love to look after the birds at my allotment as during the winter months
0:23
there's not as much around for them to eat like the berries and stuff like that
0:27
so I like to keep them well fed and looking after the birds on my allotment is good because I've got some birdhouses what I've got up and the last few years I've had some blue tits nesting in them as well so encouraging the birds to come down and feed off your allotment will encourage them to have space in the little bird houses as well so it's been fantastic to see the blotits down there so I've got
0:57
this new bird feeding station so i need to put it all together so i'm going to get it all put
1:02
together and i will show you what bird feed we're putting in it as well so yeah let's get it all
1:09
put together for you so there we have it we've put it up it wasn't the easiest these little ones
1:16
to get on uh they're very awkward but we managed to get there so we've got a seed feeder
1:23
a peanut feeder and a suet block as well We've had to order some suit blocks as we've not got any of those from the supermarket
1:32
So we've also got water and we've got a little station where you can put currents or suet or anything to pop in there as well
1:40
So yeah, let's get these feeders all filled up. So we've got different feed to put up
1:46
We've got some peanuts. We've got some suet pallets. We've got some bird feed. We've got some wild sunflower hearts and some suet balls as well
1:54
So we got some more bird feeders on my allotment so we going to fill them up as well because obviously there only two on this one So let get them filled up get the peanuts in that one and some bird feed in that one I think
2:08
So I use a jug when I use these to fill them up so that you don't lose them everywhere
2:12
And it's easier to get them in the tube. They didn't have no funnels in the circuit market so I couldn't have funnel
2:19
But this jug will be perfectly fine. So fill it up. So we've now got that out
2:30
We've got some bird feed in it. We've got some nuts in it. We've got some suet balls
2:34
We've got some fresh water in it. We've just got to wait for the suet blocks to come
2:38
which should have come today. And hopefully get them in tomorrow. So that is our bird feeding station
2:44
We've set it up so that I can watch it from my seat. So hopefully we get some nice birds popping down to come and eat from it
2:51
And hopefully not all the squirrels I'll eat them all. We've also popped some bird feeders as well around on these fruit trees as well
3:01
So hopefully we get some birds coming down and having a nibble
3:07
So yeah, these are where my bird boxes are and these usually get blue tits in them
3:12
So we'll be clearing them out ready for next year as well because you've got to clean them out at wintertime
3:18
Remove any old nest and bugs and spiders and stuff like that
3:22
So then it makes it feel feel full. fresh for them to come into next year
3:27
So hopefully we get loads of birds down here. So I'm looking forward to that, sitting and watching all the birds come on the feeders
3:34
So make sure you give us a follow so that you can stay up to date with how well the bird feeders are doing
3:40
Follow me on Facebook and Instagram as well, gardening with Ben, so that I can post photos on there
3:45
If I spot any birds on the station. So I hope you've enjoyed this everybody
