Let's continue the aotment
0:01
transformation this winter. Welcome to
0:04
Gardening with Ben everybody and today
0:06
we are back down at the aotment.
0:08
Yesterday you'll have seen that I
0:10
managed to clear four beds and I also
0:13
repaired them ready for next year
0:15
because they're made of wood so they do
0:17
rot easy and the screws do come out. So
0:20
we need to get them all in ship shape
0:22
ready for next year. I'm working hard
0:24
through the winter to get all this done
0:26
so that I'm not rushing around at
0:28
springtime as obviously that's the main
0:30
time when I'll be sewing all the seeds.
0:32
So, the more I get done now, the less
0:34
I'll have to do next year. Obviously,
0:37
the beds will need keeping weed free,
0:39
but we can do that. And there's not many
0:41
weeds that grow through the winter
0:42
period, thankfully. So, we'll just keep
0:44
them dug over and keep them on top of it
0:47
for next year. So, yeah, let's have a
0:49
look at what we did yesterday and what
0:53
So yesterday we repaired these four
0:55
beds, dug them all over, weeded them all
0:57
and repaired them all and they look
1:00
ready for next year. They look pretty
1:01
good and in good shape, ready for next
1:04
year. So today's job, we're going to be
1:06
continuing and we've got four more beds
1:09
to do today. As you can see, that one's
1:11
all rotten and destroyed. So we need to
1:13
repair that and build it again and get
1:16
it back in shape. But these three aren't
1:18
too bad. So, it's just a case of digging
1:20
them ones over and getting rid of the
1:21
weeds and the rubbish. And obviously,
1:23
we've got another eight beds to do after
1:25
that. But, we're doing four a day. So,
1:28
we'll work his way back and get it all
1:30
done. And then once that job's done,
1:33
then I'm sure we'll find another job to
1:35
do down at the plot, possibly go into
1:38
the greenhouse once we've tidied all
1:40
this area up and get the greenhouse
1:42
ready for springtime for sewing all the
1:44
seeds. So, yeah, let's get cracking.
1:47
Let's get his hands dirty, and let's get
1:49
all the weeds out. So, I've dug over the
1:53
four beds, all weeded,
1:57
all cleared, but now we just need to
2:00
repair them and get that sorted, which
2:03
hopefully won't take too long, and then
2:06
we can move on to other jobs for today.
2:09
Yeah, we're starting to get clear.
2:11
Obviously, I need to get that grass out
2:13
eventually out of the paths, but it'll
2:15
do for today. So, we just need to repair
2:18
the beds and then that's a job well
2:22
So, all them beds have been repaired,
2:25
all screwed back in, wood in place.
2:28
Hopefully, it'll last another year. We
2:31
just keep repairing. That's what we keep
2:33
doing. And hoping that it'll last a bit
2:35
longer. Some of these beds have been
2:38
This wood has been like 20 years. So,
2:41
it's done well. It's lasted well. And
2:45
then tomorrow, we'll be moving on to the
2:48
next four beds. Well, not tomorrow. Next
2:49
time we're down here onto the next four
2:54
We're cracking on and getting it cleared
2:56
and getting tidied. We just got eight
2:58
beds left to rebuild and tidy up and
3:02
then we can sit back and relax as if
3:05
definitely can't. But it's all coming
3:07
along pretty well now. blue tits there
3:09
enjoying the seed. Absolutely loving it.
3:16
it's amazing how it's all coming up. I'm
3:19
impressed with it all.
3:23
So, the last two days we've done these
3:25
eight beds, tidied them up, dug them
3:29
over, and resorted them.
3:33
So, busy job well done.
