Hello everyone and welcome to Gardening with Ben. So this is a pre-recorded video, I'm not
0:13
down at the allotment now as I'm filming. I'm back home where it's nice and warm as you can
0:18
hear it is quite windy down. I've been busy down at the Plop planting my roses and getting them
0:25
already putting my arches up for them to grow up I've had to move my roses so that they're in the
0:32
right place to be grown as I'd put them in the wrong places I didn't realize how wide the arches
0:39
actually were so for those that don't know I've set up a group for a sunflower competition which
0:47
I'm hoping everybody can get involved in around the world it'll be fantastic to get as many people
0:54
involved in this competition as possible It a fun friendly competition no prizes as yet but we may get some you never know So what it was is that I was on my live video and I was telling everybody about the sunflowers that I purchased
1:11
I've purchased lots of different varieties this year. I still need to create a video to show you what sunflowers I've actually grown
1:18
share them with you and share what I'm actually hoping to grow down at the plot this year
1:23
as I must have about 30 varieties altogether so it's going to be a great display down at the plot
1:32
if the fingers crossed that they all actually grow and I ordered them all from the UK
1:37
as obviously when you're ordering from abroad you don't know what you're actually going to get
1:42
so always make sure what you order is what it actually is
1:47
so I will post the link above if you watching on Facebook so that you can join in this competition if you watching it on YouTube it be in the description below so you can join this group and get involved We not going to be sowing them until the first weekend in April
2:07
as you don't want to be planting them outside until the frost has gone
2:13
because the frost can kill the sunflower plants off. So you don't want to be planting them outside until the frost has cleared
2:20
and the chance of getting killed by the cold weather. so if you join the group click the link above and i'll approve you to join and get involved in this
2:31
competition invite your family your friends it's good competitive competition it's going to be
2:38
friendly no horrible of this and get involved and everybody else involved so i'll not be down
2:46
at the allotment now for possibly another five or six days as i'm back on nights and
2:52
I'm so tired after my night shift I don't wake up until late afternoon
2:57
I don finish until 9 o in the morning So it going to be a case of Getting as much done as possible when i am down here and those rose cages actually took longer than i expected i didn realize that they were
3:12
going to be like a jigsaw that they are actually doing so i hope you all can get involved in
3:18
this competition also i'll share with you the new link to our group tomorrow so stay tuned for that
3:26
if you've not joined our new group as the Yorkshire Gardener group I'm going to be getting rid of that one
3:31
so make sure you don't post in there as it's not going to be approved at the moment I'm shutting it
3:35
down and starting afresh and lots of people are getting involved so it's great to see that
3:40
so I hope to speak to you all soon I hope you all have a fantastic day and as always remember keep gardening
