Let's pot up some nesters. Welcome to
0:03
Gardening with Ben. And this year down
0:05
at the a lotment, I'm growing nersiums
0:07
for the first time ever. I've never
0:09
grown them in the 22 years that I've had
0:11
my a lotment. And yeah, I thought I'd
0:13
give them a try this year as you can
0:15
obviously eat them as well. They're
0:17
slight peppery taste to them, but they
0:19
add a lot of color to the garden as
0:21
well. So, I thought we'd give it a try
0:23
and see about growing some ourselves
0:26
from seed. I try and grow everything
0:28
from seed as obviously it saves money
0:30
and you learn about it as well about
0:32
growing it from seed and the enjoyment
0:34
of seeing the seed germinate and grow
0:38
into something special is awesome as
0:40
well. So let's have a look at the
0:42
notoriums and let's see about growing
0:44
them. So these are my nersiums that I've
0:47
got growing. I've got four different
0:48
varieties in total because I thought why
0:50
not let's give them all a different try
0:52
and see how they grow and see what we
0:55
can get from them and yeah see about
0:58
seeing what they taste like and how well
1:01
they grow. They're all different colors
1:02
so it'll add some great color to my
1:04
garden. And as you can see they're all
1:06
germinating pretty well and they're
1:08
getting too big now for these seed
1:10
trays. So we're going to take them out.
1:12
We're going to pot them up and we're
1:13
going to grow them on a bit bigger until
1:15
the chance of frost has passed here in
1:17
Yorkshire, which is probably about
1:18
midmay. And yeah, then we'll plant them
1:21
out when they can survive the cold
1:23
weather. So, let's get these potted up
1:25
into pots and let's get these growing.
1:28
So, we've potted all them up into
1:30
different trays now and we've got
1:32
absolutely loads loads of different
1:33
varieties. So, I'm looking forward to
1:35
these growing and seeing how well they
1:38
taste once they're all grown and
1:40
established. But yeah, we're going to
1:42
put these in a nice sunny spot, keep
1:44
them watered, and keep them alive until
1:47
it's time to plant them out in May time
1:50
when it's a bit warmer. Well, it's warm
1:52
today, but obviously we're still getting
1:53
cold nights, so we can't risk any of
1:56
them getting killed off. So, yeah, let's
1:59
pop them in a nice safe spot until it's
2:01
time to plant them out. So, make sure
2:03
you hit the follow button to stay up to
2:05
date with these ntoriums and see how
2:07
well we get on and all our other videos
2:08
that we keep posting. Until next time
2:11
everyone, remember keep smiling, keep
2:13
shining, and keep gardening with Ben
