March Greenhouse Jobs
Make sure that your greenhouse has been washed down, cleaned out and any rubbish thrown away ready for this month as March is a busy month for planting seeds and starting them all off in the greenhouse. Replace any glass or plastic that has broken over the winter period. Make sure all the clips are still there that hold them all in also
Now in the greenhouse is the time to be potting on your annuals which have been over wintered in your greenhouse. The best place to grow your annual plants is next to the glass in the greenhouse where there is light and warmth.
You can pot your annuals into 5 inch pots with multipurpose soil. For bigger plants pot them in bigger pots and stake them up.
March is the ideal time to start sowing your tomato seeds. If you sowed your tomatoes in February they will now need potting on so that they don’t grow spindly and cramped in your seed trays – they need the extra space to grow. Pot them on into plant pots so they can start to grow bigger. You can find out lots more about growing tomatoes in my tomato planting section.
