  • Give your wisteria a prune for winter – cut it back the summer shoots back to 2 or 3 buds
  • Don’t cut back hydrangeas till Spring as this provides frost protection for the buds.
  • Dig up and store dahlia tubers once the leaves have been blackened by the frost.
  • Take root cuttings from poppies and grow them in cold frames
  • Take cuttings from suitable trees and shrubs
