Find the mother strawberry plant which should have sent out a runner. Carefully cut off the runner closest to the plant, this should be ready when it has a few roots on it. The closest one should be the strongest strawberry plant. Discard any other plants.
Step 2
Fill a plant pot with soil or compost and plant your strawberry runner
Step 3
Give you strawberry plant a drink of water.
Step 4
Put your strawberry plant in a greenhouse or polytunnel till springtime. Water every so often but not a lot. Some of the leaves may die back but that is OK.
Step 5
In April you can now plant your strawberry plant outside. In the first year you may not get many strawberries but the second year you will get more.
