Allotment and gardening diary 21st January 2020

Today was a cold and frosty morning down at the allotment, meaning I could not do jobs outside. So today I looked at my polytunnel and thought ” I best start getting you cleared out!.

So I got on the gardening gloves, black bin liners at the ready. The worst bit was all the bind weed which had grown through the winter. I managed to pull and pull and pull it all out, you don’t realise how long it grows!

Well I managed to get it all cleared and swept, the next job is to take up the black membrane flooring as it has been down around 7 years now and it’s a bit uneven the ground. Also I want to check the bindweed does not go underneath it. I’m certainly not looking forward to that job.

Also another job is to clean all the tunnel down, I just use kitchen anti bio spray to get rid of any germs and diseases that may be lurking in it.

Stay tuned for the next daily diary.
